1)I'm sick of coworkers always coming in late or leaving early because they have yet another school play, soccer game, dr appointment, teacher conference, field trip, birthday party, runny nose etc etc etc. Can I leave early because I have to walk my dog? 2) If you don't want another kid or cant handle another pregnancy - keep your legs together or use condoms! Otherwise stop whining!3) Can the woman I share a workspace with ever clean up the coffee stains on the desk that her mug leaves? If I didnt wipe them off they would be there for weeks.I wonder what her house looks like. 4) The ladies room- one would think women would be more considerate of one another. yeah right! Please double flush if you have to. I do not want to see your urine, toilet paper, tampons or log jammers. And while you are at it wipe off the pee you left on the toilet seat.5) the office potluck lunch-why should I go to all the time and expense to make a nice dish when the idiot behind me is only going to contribute a 2 liter bottle of pepsi? |

Why are you worried about your co-workers' hours?
Unless you're working on a project together and they're not pulling their weight or you're a clerical worker that has to share phone duties with them, then it is no skin off your nose when they come in, leave or take a break.
Single people w/no children
Single people w/no children are treated like 2nd class citizens in the workplace. They are the ones usually passed-over when a promotion is due.
And there's no EOE directive or legal grounds or precedent for single people with no kids in the workplace to do anything about it.

I do understand your comments. However, I am a single mother, yet most always manage to come into work early, usually take lunch in front of the computer while doing work, rarely take my allowed breaks and often stay late. If I do need to leave early, for whatever reason, I always send in a leave absense form and let my supervisor know.
Now, my co-worker, who has no children usually comes in late (with her biscut from Hardees). She then slowly eats breakfast and shortly afterwards goes to a thirty minute break (we are allowed 10) comes back, leaves not long after to another long break (she smokes). She then goes to a lunch which is usually twice the allowed time frame (1 and 1/2 hours vs 45 minutes). She then takes two to three additional long breaks and always leaves 15 to 30 minutes early. WHATZUPWITDAT? Just be assured, its not the harried moms who are taking advantage of the situation.

I just found this site, but I totally hear you here. People need to worry only about themselves. Those who are watching others have way too much time on their hands.

How you work pretty much is how I work. I was educated to do it right, and that's how I do it.
Unfortunately, one of the engineers I worked for didn't know what he was doing, and he got freaked out cause everybody else did his design work for him. (I have 2 degrees and 3 cert's in CAD and I know what I'm doing.)
He got both of us Technicians and one of the engineers fired. Nice guy.

My coworkers are constantly calling out! Of course who do they call to fill their place? Me! I'm on the verge of shoving vitamins down all their throats! Half the time I know they aren't even really sick! I too have a life outside of work and would like to see it every now and then! It drives me nuts!
