not. Cheery.Submitted by Anonymous on 25 December, 2007 - 6:51pm.
Why are people starting to sign emails with " cheers?" Are they assuming I am checking my email with a drink in hand? While at a pep rally? Makes me want to smash their cheery little heads together. |

Cheers
I have a bunch of clients from Europe and Canada, and they all sign their e-mails with "cheers". Apparently it is like "see ya" or "good luck", everyone uses those phrases even in speech in a lot of other western countries. It used to really bug me too, but I'm starting to get used to it. But I refuse to sign anything with cheers. I agree, cheers should be reserved for sporting events and toasts.
Better than 'carpe diem'

Cheers! is used in many countries outside of the United States as a way to say 'see you!' or 'goodbye'.
And believe it or not, there IS a life outside the United States.
Cheers!
